The Wild Robot is an animated movie from the creators of Shrek and Kung Fu Panda. It was the last film to be entirely animated by Dreamworks Animation which was quite upsetting because I’ve really liked lots of their projects. Now with The Wild Robot I had already read the first book so I was excited to see how they would adapt it. The animation looked great in the trailers so I thought I’d love this movie, and I can thankfully say I loved The Wild Robot!
The soundtrack and character development were great! They gave emotion to every scene with main characters Roz, Fink and Brightbill. The animation was outstanding! The key messages were also extremely touching and most of my friends watching the movie with me nearly cried (or did). However, the one thing that made the movie the best was the plot. It was heartwarming and amazing. There was a great build-up throughout the story.
The one issue I had was with elements of the book not making the movie, or some elements added to the movie. I understand that book to movie adaptations are not 100% the same, however I felt they added too many new things, while also removing key things from the books. They eliminated parts that would work really well with building emotion and empathy, but I guess they couldn’t fit it all in a full-length film.
The Wild Robot was no surprise a loveable movie! It is great for a family or friends movie night. There is also two more books after the first one so it would be good to see a trilogy for this franchise.
About Kid Director

Hey there, movie buffs! I'm Kid Director, your mid-sized film fanatic who eats, sleeps, and breathes movies (and, you know, food and air—those are kinda crucial too). My love for movies started before I could even walk, and guess what? I'm still glued to the screen! I catch all the latest flicks and have been dishing out my own reviews for ages. My dream? To become a big-shot Director and snag a bunch of Oscars!
I noticed that while there are tons of review sites and YouTube channels, there aren't many made by kids, for kids. So, I thought, why not start one? Now, here we are! I'd love for you to join me in reviewing movies. Plus, it'll help your parents figure out what's worth watching and what's a total snooze-fest. Let's make movie magic together!
