The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the latest film for Marvel Studios and is the first movie in Phase 6. I love the Fantastic Four, I love the original 2005 Fantastic Four movie, same for the sequel, not so much for the reboot. But when they announced Marvel Studios would finally make their version, I was curious what it would be like. I thought John Krasinski was going to play Mr. Fantastic after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, surprisingly they revealed it would be in a whole other universe, not in the MCU and would be based in the 60’s? I was shocked but eager to see how they would adapt this great team. So, more news came and soon enough it was the day I was going to watch The Fantastic Four. I was excited and nervous because this is the movie gearing people up to watch Avengers: Doomsday…and really the whole Phase 6 of the MCU. But with that amazing theme song I could not…not spread the word. At school I sang…Fan-tas-tic Fourrrrrrrrrr! At home I sang…Fan-tas-tic Fourrrrrrrrrr! I was pumped to see this film. My second most anticipated movie was about to project into my eyes…and after watching Fantastic Four, let me tell you something…it was FANTASTIC!
Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/Thing and many more were fan-…incredible! They made this version of the Fantastic Four feel so cool. The plot in this movie is really fan-…thrilling and touching in a way. I think all of us can agree this film is one of the most serious Marvel movies ever. It was the second time I was sweating throughout some scenes. The universe is so fan-…great, but the score was fantastic-…AL! The soundtrack in this movie is something that reminds me of cult classics and why I love them so much.
However, the faults in The Fantastic Four: First Steps are not so fantastic. This film is 1hr and 54mins and that’s a little short for Marvel standards. When I saw that runtime, I thought it was that number because well…they can’t really help it! But when I saw the movie, it begins and ends real quick. They kind of rush into the plot and it feels like if they fleshed it out more they would have maybe gotten a 2hrs and 15mins runtime possibly. However, the seriousness in the movie really downgraded it. Don’t get me wrong, I love we’re finally getting something more serious from Marvel, but something made me love Marvel more than the old DC was because it had funny jokes mixed with action packed goodness. It helps you connect to the characters and humanise them. There was only one pretty good joke! I thought Johnny Storm would be funnier but honestly, he is more serious in the film.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the fantastic-est, fantast-erpiece in the Fantastic Four film genre and will be remembered (by me at least) as one of the fantastic Marvel movies they fantastic-ally created! (Sorry had to use those fantastic words in the last paragraph.) There’s two post credit scenes, one is after the first batch of credits, which by the way is insane! And one after the long, second batch of credits which is cute and kind but not a ‘must stay for’.

I really loved the story line, but facing galactus, in a movie called “ first steps” is a bit much. Still, loved it though
