The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 Title Revealed

The Super Mario Bros. Movie came out in April 2023 and now the sequel is on its way, the same month, 3 years later and the concept is not what you would expect. The post credit scene of the first movie teased Yoshi involvement, and I (plus many others) thought they probably were adapting the Super Mario World video game, which has Mario riding Yoshi around. However, today a Nintendo Direct came out which announced all the newest games, releasing a short teaser that revealed the title to be… The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?! I thought that was an obvious third movie, but now it’s the second movie! What’s the third movie going to be about? I felt making a movie called The Super Mario World Movie was a perfect way to have Yoshi in this film and have the trilogy end with outer space. Now, fast-tracking this concept as a sequel, for me, feels like a missed opportunity. If they were to do a third film, it couldn’t be Super Mario World because that would be a downgrade to galaxy, even Super Mario Odyssey, which I’ve seen people talk about, would be considered a downgrade. Galaxy, for me, is the best of the best and having it so soon feels rushed.

Although it was a BIG surprise that Galaxy would be in the title, there was a leak which we ALL thought was fake, but is now proven to be real with the support of the title! In July, there was a photo released of two deodorant bottles. One with Yoshi and his egg called Brookyln Bounce. One with Luigi and Tostarenan, who is a character from Super Mario Odyssey called Desert Detour and both bottles said The Super Mario Galaxy Movie! We all thought it was AI but now we can say they were real! How did this person get a hold of these so early?!

Does this all mean Yoshi will mainly be in Brookyln the whole movie and will Luigi be in a desert universe? In the games, Daisy is known as the ‘Desert Princess’. Maybe Luigi can find his true love? Also, the cast was announced, well, more re-established, because they didn’t announce any new people only the same actors from the first film. Except, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong wasn’t there! The reason being because Donkey Kong has his own movie in the works (I have a news article all about that). Anyway, what do you guys think about The Super Mario Galaxy Movie coming out April 2026? You excited, upset? Hopefully the full length trailer will be released in a few months and if they’re doing what they did with the first movie they might release the official trailer next month?!
