Jurassic World: Rebirth is the seventh movie in the franchise starring Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. When I saw Jurassic World: Dominion, I didn’t really like it, so when they announced a new one, it felt like they were rushing to release the film. When seeing the trailers for Rebirth, they looked alright but nothing special. One day I was watching Jimmy Fallon interviewing Scarlett Johansson and he praised the movie saying “it felt like the Steven Speilberg movies”. For me, that’s what got me really excited. I call Jurassic Park one of the best movies of all time and hearing that statement was great! (Although, Jurassic Park 2 isn’t my favourite…). So finally, having watched this film, I feel it is a really good film!
The CGI is great with all the dinosaurs looking so real. The filming locations are mesmerising and I don’t talk about settings in a movie often. The plot was awesome; a one of a kind in this franchise. However, the best part of Jurassic World: Rebirth are the horror elements. The kills and scenes are intense and a little bit scary (and I’m a 12 year old!). But, I think most kids would be fine watching this film, just be aware.
The things I didn’t like about Rebirth were the characters. Although, yes, they do have great moments, their story or purpose is rushed or untouched. There were characters who needed just one more line of dialogue to make this character drive, to really matter, but that never really happen. Also, the new dinosaur in this film, which is in the trailers, feels rushed and unnecessary. It feels like every Jurassic World movie they must make an original dinosaur.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is a great film for Jurassic Park lovers, although some come out disappointed. This movie deserves a chance because let me tell ya, that opening scene is so cool!
